Do you pay to promote your products or services, or do you do it all for free? Or perhaps you do both?

There are over 300 ways to ‘get the word out’ about what you do.

Many of these are free. For example, DIY Press Relations (PR), SEO and sending emails to a modestly sized list.

Interestingly, free promotional techniques can work better than their paid for cousins.

There is something authentic about them. The messages come directly from you. The quality of the content is better. The customer can see, hear and feel the difference.,

Small businesses do as much as they can for free.

Larger enterprises usually outsource to agencies.

If you are going to the promotional work yourself, you need to be able to plan and think strategically.

It helps if you are a creative thinker, as you will require a continual stream of new ideas.

You need to be able to write well, as most forms of promotion require the written word.

In addition, you will probably find yourself learning how to become a graphic designer, videographer and website designer, amongst other things.

On this basis, I hope that you love to learn.
