If your marketing is not working, it may be because human beings are creatures of habit.
We start to do something and soon get used to it.
“That’s what we’ve always done.”
“Well, it worked great last year.”
“XYZ told us to do this.”
It can take considerable effort to change direction.
It can take even more effort to admit that something isn’t working any longer.
What is more, we are drawn to marketing activities that we enjoy.
Posting on social media, for example.
Or any of the other 299 ways to promote an enterprise that I have discovered so far.
Here is a suggestion for you.
Take a long hard look at your sales enquiries and where they come from.
If you don’t already do so, start tracking sales lead sources.
What is working well for you?
Do most of your enquiries come via word of mouth?
If your website is on the list, is this down to your SEO?
Or is it email marketing, calls, social media, events, advertising or something else?
The chances are that some promotional items are not working at all.
Is it time for some new thinking and new ideas?
If that’s a yes, take some time out of your pressing day to day activities and rethink your approach.
You can do this on your own or with your team (if you have one).
Or you could get some input from a marketing specialist.
